Introduction
Human Resources department acts as the centralised power and controls all the levels of the
Organization. Human Resources handles a lot of responsibilities like hiring, training and
development, employee morale, employee performance appraisals and a lot other activities.
They face a lot of issues on a daily basis especially in terms of hiring and they follow most of
the Human Resource practices in order to handle all of them in an effective way. Human
Resources helps in working on the relations between the employer and the employees.
Employees are the consumers of the organization’s mission and culture where the human
esources works on creating a greater environment for the employees.
Critically assess the range of training and development methods available in
international organisations.
There has always been a demand acquiring, communicating, learning and improving
knowledge and also applying the knowledge which has been learnt. There was no term called
as knowledge management and this term has evolved in 15 to 20 years now. The term
management is essential when things cannot be managed on their own and because of this
they would need a system to manage it. This method in which a system is developed for
organizing things and using them in a better way is called as knowledge management.
There are various international training and development methods which are available and they are
implemented by most of the organizations. The training has been divided into 5 types like
induction training, base training, on job training, refresher training and skill enhancement
trainings. All these training methods are for changing the attitude and changing the behaviour
of the employees to enhance their skills and also to enhance their levels of communication.
There are various informational training methods like new policies, programs, code of
conduct and the other methods which are used for the transfer of information between various
sources in the organization. Trainings like classroom trainings, workshops, self directed
learning methods, programmed instruction methods and independent study based trainings
like the E Learning methods are adapted and implemented in most of the organizations
(ToolBoxes 2012).
The most common methods which are implemented are the classroom trainings which are
implemented to solve the issues which are related to changing the attitude and changing the
ehaviour of the employees to enhance their skills and also to enhance their levels of
communication. These trainings might also involve the process related trainings which would
involve the technical and the process related aspects. These are the most effective training
methods where the trainers would be able to monitor the performance of the employees
where they adapt a lot of material and these trainings are implemented most of the times as
the organizations do not incur much cost and they can organize their own trainings.
2.1 Critically assess the theory and models of training needs analysis and then conduct a
training needs analysis of the chosen international organisation using this model.
Training need analysis is a systematic process of understanding the training requirements of
an organization. It is conducted in various stages and there are various processes in which it
is conducted like the levels of the organization which is involved, the levels of employees and
their job roles and all these are called as the organizational, individual and job analysis. The
theories like behaviour, the cognitivists and humanists emphasize different aspects of
teaching and learning processes in their approaches. The behaviourist’s theory emphasizes on
the external factors which evaluate the changes in behaviour and the cognitivist’s theory is
elated to the division and coding aspects of training. After all these analysis are completed
the results are collated and compared to align them with the objectives of the organization
(BSI Group 2010).
This could be done in various stages like
ï‚· What is the process which has to be adapted
ï‚· What should be done to implement the process
ï‚· Assessing the training needs by using a competence based tool
ï‚· By adapting various performance development plans
ï‚· By collecting...
