organization. If these skills are developed and competitive advantage as well as competencies is 
developed, then it will become possible to formulate a sustainable business (Pearce, J. & 
Robinson, R. 2008). In case of developing a sustainable business it becomes essential that there 
be usage of several strategies for the purpose of developing an appropriate sustainable business 
which is based on skills and competencies (Barlett, Ghoshal & Birinkshaw, 2004). 
Managers and leaders can consider the formation of a sustainable business itself as a 
business strategy (Barlett, Ghoshal & Birinkshaw, 2004). Sustainable development refers to 
development of a nation or an economy or even a business in such a manner that it leads to short 
term as well as long term benefits to the economy. The focus in case of sustainable development 
is to ensure that the development is in favor of the next few generations. In case of sustainable 
development the focus is on elimination of issues and problems that are causing the deterioration 
and hollowing of the business itself. In this way sustainable development is done with a long 
term vision and helps ensure that stagnation does not take place at all.
