Hi Marcus,
Thank so much for sharing your thoughts on leadership!
When we think about leadership, we typically think about someone in a particular, often titled, position, but in a sense all of us probably demonstrate leadership in some capacity. To be a good leader, it's important to have a strong sense of direction. When pondering this topic and wondering whether or not I even know my "True North", I stumbled across this blog by Bill George:http://www.billgeorge.org/articles/30-questions-to-help-you-discover-your-true-north/.(Links to an external site.) In it, the author lists 30 questions that provoke a great deal of--sometimes uncomfortable!--introspection. To be entirely honest, I don't think I like my own answers. They feel superficial or at times automatic. Do you think leaders who demonstrate this authentic style you describe have spent time pondering this, intentionally developing a moral compass, or is it just a quality that some folks possess naturally?
I look forward to our continued discussion!
