Continuous Improvement from the context of
Organizational Success
2

Introduction
Continuous Improvement from the context of organization success is a process which has to be
never ending. This effort needs to be exposed and should result in eliminating the root cause of
the problem. Usually, this involves various increments and improvements in small steps other
than just one innovation overwhelming. From the perspective of consistent improvisation, the
usiness culture of any organization can be improved. This is the reason why continuous
improvement is termed as philosophy which can help the cultures of all businesses to improve
every factor in relation to their process of transformation on a consistent basis. This has to be
done in such a way that input gets converted into output (Stevenson et al 2012). This concept has
to be applied to all organizations and their cultures in order to lead the organizations towards
success. The aim of this paper is to address this very important term Continuous Improvement
from the context of Organization Success. The paper will analyze how this concept can be
applied to businesses and how this application has to take place. Also, the paper considers the
possibility of continuous improvement leading the organizations into continuously improving
their systems, processes and cultures. The opportunities of continuous improvement can be used
for managing the organization in terms of benefits. The same has been analyzed from the
perspective of an organizational leader to contribute to the continuous improvement initiative
and implementation. The process involves everyone ranging from labor to management where
operation such as finding and elimination with regard to material labor and production are all
involved. In order to address to the mentioned issue, examples and incidences will be used with
egard to continuous improvement change having an impact on individuals in the internal
environment of organizations, assessment of risk, management of risk and the techniques to
successfully deal with these changes (Stevenson et al 2012).
Continuous Improvement: Meaning and Perspective
Companies such as Polaroid, have complications and are multi-faceted. This section of the paper
provides a deeper understanding into what continuous improvement means, its approach, the
challenges that approach through consistent development and the benefits.
At some point when larger organizations grow, they face challenges with regard to
accountability, communication and problems in maintaining the perspective of systems that need
3

to emerge. Several organizations have distinct requirements and ability when continuous
improvement as a component is highlighted (Stevenson et al 2012). The continuous
improvement requirement depends on aspects such as environment of the business, the product
type developed by the organization and other factors in the organization. With the help of this
framework and its implementation in the thought process on the accountability problem,
perspective of communication and system that are experienced by organizations, it becomes
evident to focus on the factors of organization especially the culture of organization in
understanding how the internal system of that organization works.
Application of Continuous Improvement
Companies have different ways of approaching continuous improvement. However, the factors
that determine the path in which the operation of a company takes place and how it continuously
will improve its operations are inclusive of the following:
 Environment of Business
 Characteristics of a product
 Factors of organization (culture, design and size)

Environment of the business: The reference of business environment here is to the factors that
affect the ability of an organization for competing in certain industries. In most cases, these
factors are also known as the indicators of the organizations attitude to attain continuous
improvement. The Five force model of Porter leads towards understanding the external
environment of an organization. The facts that play within the industry are inclusive of
competition level within the firms, ba
iers to make entry, substitute present and the buyer extent
and power of suppliers (Maurer et al 2009). The factors that lead towards market description are
directly in relation to the attitude of the company towards efforts in making consistent
improvement. The degree to which regulation can be imposed by the customer or the
government leads into determining how the innovation can take place by a company. As the
egulations become severe more difficult it becomes for the organizations to make any kind of
changes with regard to product and their process. An example here can be the Administration
department of food and drug. This department maintains policies that are strict requiring that the
manufacturers of drug have to complete various clinical trial phrases before the manufacture of
products can take place. The result of this is that very little effort is put in to improve
continuously in order to approve the process of drug synthesis since the change will need a lot of
time and reliable resources. The competitor number and the competition degree affect the way in
which company takes up the consideration of continuously improving. When an organization, for
example, Polaroid started initially producing instant products of photography, the company was
essentially only a significant monopoly (Maurer et al 2009). This was the time when Polaroid
had to begin making its product in the right manner and then try making the product better. This
company was the first to
ing in revolution of products. It is still claimed by the employees that
the product produced by them is most complicated chemical product in the world.
Characteristic of the Product: There is an immense impact of product on the continuous
improvement process when implemented in the company. Certain factors like the...
