Introduction
The consumers are considered to be the heart of any business processes. The cultural aspects of the customers influence their purchasing behaviour and so different products are manufactured by the marketers and varied advertisement methods are incorporated accordingly. The case study of the online retail organisations in Australia would be highlighted in this report. Issues relating to consumer behaviour and their recommended solutions are provided in the report as well.
Critical Analysis of Identified Issues
In the journal “Understanding Consumer Behaviour” it is stated that consumer behaviour is basically dependent on culture. As the citizens of Australia have high living standards they believe that a product is considered to be good if it is highly priced. If the cost of any product or service is low, then the consumers tend to presume that it is of low quality. It is a cultural trend that is followed all over the country. People have the general tendency of displaying their social status with the purchase of highly priced goods. The more the display of wealth, the higher would be the social status (Szmigin & Piacentini, 2018). Following the cultural trend, the consumers of Australia tend to invest most of their disposable income in the purchase of premium and high end products. With the introduction of internet, Australian consumers are inclining towards the online shopping options. Going by the cultural trends, the citizens of Australia spend a huge amount of 8 billion A$ on the purchase of high end beauty and grooming products online, whereas they spend only 2 billion A $ per year for academic purposes. Around 19 billion A $ is spent in availing recreational services but only 8.3 billion A $ is invested per year for medical purposes. 11.7 billion dollars is spent on the purchase of meat but only 2.4 billion A $ IS spent on buying sea food. So it is the cultural tendencies that the consumers tend to spend most of their disposable income on the high end products rather than buying products that are marginally priced and spending on the necessities like academics and medical facilities (Khare, 2015).
In the journal named “From exposure to comprehension”, comprehension is considered to be an attribute of consumer behaviour. It is refe
ed as the procedure through which the customers derive a meaning out of something they have perceived. A business organisation uses a certain tagline or slogan in order to represent the type of goods and services that are being offered by the company. The cultural aspects influence the comprehension power of the consumers regarding the message that the company wants to convey through the tagline (Previte, Russell‐Bennett & Parkinson, 2015). The culture of...
