Scientific management is concerned with the application of the scientific methods, in
order to increase the individual worker’s productivity (Griffin, 2011). Frederick, W. Taylor is
considered as the Father of scientific management. Bethlehem Steel was the first company
that earns profit from the implementation of scientific management. The scientific
management system consists of following steps:

The scientific management has three basic elements, i.e. substitution of the science for
individual judgments; scientific selection as well as development of workman; and
cooperation of management with workers. Further, these principles included the fact that the
management has the responsibilities for finding the best way to and then perform all the
aspects of the operations; management is charged with the responsibility to train and develop
each workmen of the organization, in order to make them enable for the high class of work.
Under this principle, the thinking process was assigned to the manager and who in turn
exercise full control on the behavior of the workers (Griffin, 2011). .
