Answer 3A: The statement made by facebook saying “respect applicable law” was the requirement of the social media giant during Australian election would not be supported by Milton Friedman.
The article by (Friedman 1970) helps to infer the reason that why he would disagree to the statement made by facebook. Two most prominent reasons are:
1. He states that people may have certain responsibilities but business as a whole cannot be said to have responsibilities. He mentions that social responsibilities taken by a business will reduce return to his stockholders.
2. He also says that in such cases the corporate executive spends someone else’s money because actions taken on such issues might raise the price for customers or lower the wages for some employees. And in case corporate does so then what is the surety that their actions will pay the way they wanted.
