The knowledge impartation of the HBO course has helped me to develop a set of managerial skills that are useful for my careers as well as for organisational effectiveness. Within my managerial practice, I have to deal with many situations, where I have to rely on the knowledge I gained from the past to implement it in the present scenario. Hence, for meeting such emergencies, I plan beforehand and apply the concept of contingency. As supported by Mujtaba et al. (2013), it helps the manager to be prepared for situations that cannot be evaluated from before, and thus, require immediate action. Therefore, for contingency management, I have implemented Fiedler’s theory. According to Lambert et al. (2012), this theory mentions that effective leaders or managers are expected to modify themselves in accordance with the situation, so that they not only motivate the employees to abide by their instructions by trusting them, but also strengthen their relationship with the employees.
