The social responsibility is a moral and ethical concern towards the society with respect to 
the products and service offerings of the company in this scenario. The company is a 
pharmaceutical company that explores and discovers various drugs and medicinal chemicals 
that can result in different kind of effects on human beings. In the current scenario, Myron 
faces a social responsibility as his company has asked him to strategize for marketing some 
drugs which give euphoric and elated kind of feelings along with showing addictive 
properties which have been associated with cocaine and tobacco. These drugs can prove to be 
medically harmful if consumed over a long period of time and can lead to terminal diseases 
like oral cancer. Although it is in company’s financial interest as these drugs can prove to 
bring huge amount of revenue by sales in areas where they are popular, but it can 
dangerously irresponsible for the company to market such drugs to people. Marketing of a 
product is a profession and a true professional is a one who does his job with utmost sincerity 
and honesty without thinking about the moral standing of his job as long as the job is legal. 
Myron is responsible to market legal but allegedly harmful products. This has resulted in 
tussle between professionalism and morality. A job has to be done with earnestness till a 
person holds that job. If he is not clear if this is the right thing to do, he should disassociate 
himself with that job  instead of being dishonest to the duties related to that job.
