You are asked to write a review one of the below articles.
Article 2. Wettstein, F, Giuliani, E, Santangelo, G-D & Stahl, G-K 2019, ‘International business and human rights: A research agenda’, Journal of World Business, vol 54, pp. 54-65.

Your review should do the following:
• identify and understand the key concepts and theories related to your chosen article and demonstrate a grasp of the author(s) main arguments relating to them.
• discuss the significance of the article to the relevant academic literature. What is the relationship between the article with other articles written on the same topic? What contribution does the article make to the field of research? In doing this you should include at least three other scholarly texts in the literature, (see https://emedia.rmit.edu.au/isearch/scholarly-information).
• present these by using an effective academic writing style including consistent referencing and citation using the Harvard citation style (see: http://www.lib.rmit.edu.au/easy-cite/ for more information on Harvard (or RMITHarvard) referencing style.

Some tips for this assessment :
• When reviewing academic literature, it is critical to focus on what the authors are arguing rather than simply the subject that they are talking about. By addressing this argument, you will be able to situate the piece in the wider literature of contrary opinions, so as to better understand and articulate the piece’s relevance to that literature.
• Try to think critically about the piece’s argument rather than just summarising it. Whether you agree or disagree with the argument of the piece, you should try to analyse the opinions of the literature with some independence, offering evidence to support your point of view where necessary.
• Avoid quotations that do not clearly illustrate a specific critical issue. In general, use direct quotations only if you have a good reason. Most of your paper should be in your own words to demonstrate your understanding of the ideas of the author.
• Make consistent use of thorough referencing and clear bibliographic detail.

The criteria against which the paper will be graded are:
• evidence of critical reading and understanding of the article;
• evaluation of the article’s significance to the existing literature; and
• presentation which includes a clear writing style, good grammar and spelling and appropriate referencing.

full details can be seen in the assignment task 1 guide and the marking criteria rubric. I also attached the article no 2 file, so you can have a look for it.

Key Concepts and Theories related to Chosen Article
Business does not necessarily involve only buying, selling, trading and making profit. Instead, the corporations also have some responsibilities towards society. Understanding human rights is an essential component of risk management, integrity and citizenship. Multinational corporations (MNCs) work beyond the reach of government that is between economic and political globalisation and thus, they create ‘governance-gaps’, which can be exploited often towards the loss of human rights.
Business and Human Rights (BHR) has been described as the research area by Wettstein et al. (2019). Their study is basically focused on international business and the way they can engage themselves with business and human rights (BHR). They have tried to reflect BHR as a research are to the International Business (IB) scholars, then they emphasised on its importance e and finally they prepared some common themes in order to point out the evolving areas of research for integrated IB-BHR approach.
They tried to differentiate BHR from Corporate social responsibility (CSR) by the view that BHR evolved from legal scholarship while CSR emerged from management studies. They also explained that BHR is not a field of research with in its own rights but also has some discussions in related areas such as human trafficking, slavery, taxation, and employee relations. They focused on the view point that ‘human rights is not merely semantic’ that is informing that BHR requires time, a different initiation point for our reflective writing and leads to applications of the same with respect to shape, nature and the extent of CSR.
They also commented that viewing CSR as private might misinterpret the real role of the cooperation in the global economy, which is an acceptable point because these were created to protect human rights i
espective of their public or private nature. At last, they claimed that IB has not only to find advantage in BHR because of its huge knowledge in the field of MNEs but it also has a huge role in the evolvement of the BHR field.
Significance of the Article in the Field of Business
Giuliani, Santangelo and Wettstein (2016) argued that human rights are superior to other concepts because it restricts international companies regarding the open view of responsible business conduct, which compliments the view presented by Wettstein et al. (2019) because corporations try to shadow their BHR with CSRs. Obara (2017) presented another important view regarding how companies view human rights internally and they are bound to the impact due to some external mechanisms. This is a very interesting concept because how companies view human rights that are a moral, political or legal construct changes the execution of BHR from their side.
Zahra and Wright (2016) presented a contradicting view that entrepreneurship has always been promoted by MNCs and by this the generate more jobs because they are seen as the drivers of corporate financial performance and growth and also a progressive expansion in respect and HR realization on global scale this contradicts the view presented by Wettstein et al. (2019) because they separated the BHR and CSR while this view presents human rights as a CSR asset.
