What Makes Asian Growth Phenomenal?Asian cities have tended to grow 
faster than Western cities. The accelerated rate may be attributed to population 
dynamics, economic markets and or/socio-political conditions. Discuss which of 
these three aspects of urban growth is most influential. Be sure to include 
discussion as to why the other two aspects are not as important in phenomenal 
urban growth as aspects that you champion. You need to refer to other sources 
for this assignment, so be sure to properly cite the text and any other

Reasons behind the Phenomenal Growth of Asian Cities 
The recent trend in economic growth indicates that in the future the Asian countries are 
going to sustain their economic superiority over their Western counterparts. And this is because 
of the phenomenal growth rate of Asian cities which is directly contributing to the overall 
economic development of the concerned Asian countries. But what are the reasons behind such 
phenomenal growth rate? Is it the population growth, the economic markets, or simply is the 
socio-political conditions present in the economically prospering Asian countries which is 
contributing largely to the growth of the Asian cities? The answer to such a question should be 
that, it is the population growth along with the presence of strong economic markets which are 
the two factors that are immensely aiding the growth process of the Asian cities making their 
growth rate faster than the growth rate of Western cities.  
The effect of globalization on the Asian countries like China and India has instigated a 
shift in the economic culture of these countries. For an example, India, influenced by the 
technological advancements of the West, has gradually shifted from an agricultural country to a 
industrialized country and this has provided an opportunity for the growth of economic markets 
alluring foreign investors to come and invest in different sectors which in turn has paved the way 
for the more and more employment and eventual urbanization. The prevalence of more and more 
industries and related jobs has provoked millions of Asian rural inhabitants to shift to Asian 
cities in the search of a better life and this has again contributed to the growth of megacities in 
countries like Indian, China, and Japan.
