Assessment 1
1) Key project details:
From the time Ai
us was founded in the year 1970, it had set up two destination goals for the company. The goals where established on the cause of merging the big companies in the field, from sixteen different sites of Europe including Germany, Spain, Britain and France in order to compete with American companies at the top of its market such as Boeing, Lockheed etc. Trying to evolve as a successful establishment of the organization Ai
us took an initiative to build the A380, the greatest project of that time in the year 2000. The idea was to ca
y passengers in count, more than the average aircraft can ca
y. Due to internal areas of conflict and dis-orientation of the management from an overall perspective Ai
us also decided to re-structure the organizational architecture. Bringing all the site leaders under one roof would reduce the negative effects and ca
y out the process in smooth manner was believed by Ai
us (Grant, 2016). But as the managers remained loyal to their own company it was almost impossible to complete the project in time and this delayed the project by five years, was delivered in the year 2007 whereas the initial launch was in the year of 2002.
2) In-scope and out-scope for the project:
Ai
us as it was to establish a consortium including sixteen different sites in the European countries majorly wanted to compete with the American Pioneers in the field. It was in hand, for the organization to set up a solid management which will take care of the necessary requirement of the project to be completed, but it failed to do so. Setting up a proper architecture of roles and responsibilities autonomous to all the previous constituents would have led to proper judgement and analyzation of the project requirements (Lasse
e, 2017). In turn it would have led to success of the project with minimum issues and create a
and tag in the market.
Out-of-scope for the project:
Though it would have been able to make a strong management but some of the areas are which were out-of-scope for Ai
us to intervene in. Customer satisfaction or how they would react to the product being delivered to them is of main concern. But this can only be determined if the project was completed well on time. The next thing was for the deadline of the product pre-decided when only Ai
us was coming together (Fernandez & Le Roy, 2018). It was known that the conflict is a part of the organization this could have led to many failures other than the failed project. Prevention at an earlier stage could have been easy but knowing it altogether beforehand is not possible.
3) Stakeholders:
A)
Key stakeholders for Ai
us were customer for who they were going to deliver the product and the management. As the progress of the product was underway, the managers from 16 different sites were bought in together to resolve the conflict but as they were loyal to their previous constituent’s proper authorization and working process was unable to develop which led to project failure deadline (Shenhar et al. 2016). Customers expected the product to be delivered on time but due to internal conflicts it became impossible for Ai
us to keep its product ready. This created a tension among the stakeholders.
B)
There are some procedures that could have been followed by Ai
us to keep the company up-to date with all the necessary things and are as follows:
1. When starting to combine all the sites together they could have created a better structure of the organization with some autonomous people those who can think in favor of Ai
us and not the individuals (Beaugency, Sakinç & Talbot, 2015). This could help in building trust and...
