There are six tasks you must complete:
1. Setting the scene
1. Prepare a feedback form
1. Conduct a team meeting
1. Analysing team feedback
1. Giving feedback
1. Develop recommendations for the organisation
You will be required to access the Gelos Enterprises website to download documents and templates. (Long URL: https:
share.tafensw.edu.au/share/file/d0b458dc-3922-409d-b1fe-9a2f785f4a38/1/GelosEnterprises.zip/intranet.html)
Part 1: Project tasks
To complete this part of the assessment, you will be required to answer questions to demonstrate your ability to apply skills and strategies to enhance and develop critical thinking in others.
This part of the assessment can be based on a workplace scenario, using the templates provided for the Gelos Enterprises scenario.
Once you have read the information, you are required to complete your written responses to questions in the spaces provided in this document. Please ensure you take note of the volume of response requirement where indicated.
Once completed, you will need to submit this assessment to your assessor for marking.
Task 1: Setting the scene
For this task, the student will be required to complete a series of questions to set the scene for the remaining tasks in this assessment event.
You may base the scenario on a real or fictional workplace. It may also be your own workplace.
Review Gelos Enterprises existing policies and systems. These documents are located on the Gelos Enterprises website and will include a document on ‘Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)’ (Long URL: https:
share.tafensw.edu.au/share/file/5f1cec7b-1d03-446a-85b7-edb42692c34e/1/GE_Use-of-Personal-Protective-Equipment-Procedure.pdf)
1. You are a team leader and you’ve been given an organisational mandate by your line manager Mr Robert Goodwin, to encourage the use of PPE in your department. However, you notice a general lack of awareness about the ‘Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)’ guidelines, and you need to work with your team to solve this issue. Illustrate the problem statement in the space provided below and list some possible problems that could arise due to the lack of awareness.
2. Cu
ently, the ‘Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)’ guidelines are only available through voluntary access on the organisation website. Recommend critical and creative thinking models that you would like to use with your team to enable their critical and creative thinking skills to come up with solutions to increase awareness of the guidelines in your department.
3. As you are cu
ently working remotely, you will need to set up an initial meeting to discuss knowledge gaps and appropriate learning opportunities with your team members, to better understand the purpose and value of PPE in the workplace and to increase attention towards using it when required.
Identify which approach for learning you would like to use to connect with your team and illustrate its outline in the space provided below.
4. Write out a list of questions you would like to ask your team members at the meeting, to determine their knowledge gaps on the subject being discussed.
Task 2: Prepare a feedback form
As part of your preparation for the team meeting, you will need to prepare a feedback form for your team members to complete after the meeting and return to you for analysis in Task 4.
Feedback can be on your performance, workplace planning for future training or about the effectiveness and conduct of the actual meeting.
You can distribute your feedback form to the team members during or after the meeting and can do this by giving them a word document or email to complete and then share back with you.
You may find a feedback template which you can modify in the Gelos templates or you could also set up an online questionnaire using a platform or software like Survey Monkey, Microsoft, or Google Forms.
You must receive and submit a minimum of THREE completed feedback forms or responses in digital or hard copy as part of your assessment submission in Task 4.
By completing the table below, Table 1 Confirmation of feedback form being prepared, you confirm you have prepared a feedback form to be provided to team members before, during or just after the meeting.

Task 3: Conduct a team meeting
The objective of this task is to conduct a meeting with your team to discuss the issue identified in Task 1 and use critical and creative thinking methods to identify solutions to address it.
You will also monitor the team’s skill development on critical and creative thinking and share your recommendations on alternative learning a
angements to be implemented in future planning when conducting a similar meeting in Task 5.
To complete this part of the assessment, you will participate in a 15-20 minute role-play with your identified team members to demonstrate your ability to lead a meeting to develop critical and creative thinking skills in others within a workplace context.
The role play will be observed by your Teache
Assessor or must bedigitally recorded and submitted as evidence. Your demonstration will be used as part of the overall evidence requirements of the unit.
It would help if you refe
ed to the criteria provided in the observation checklist to understand what skills you need to demonstrate in this section of the assessment. This checklist outlines the assessment criteria used to assess your performance.
The meeting aims to facilitate a formal or informal meeting to present a safe environment where group members can apply critical thinking skills to solve workplace problems. This will allow the team to develop and apply critical and creative thinking skills. You will be required to work with your team members to present ideas ve
ally and gather the group’s opinions.
As part of the meeting, you should also ensure the meeting addresses the following:
· Explains the key features of critical and creative thinking and their application to the workplace
· Creates a safe environment where group members can apply critical thinking skills to workplace problems and provide feedback for their performance
· Facilitates formal and informal learning opportunities to develop and apply critical and creative thinking skills
You can also use any other handouts or resources within the meeting if you choose.
You will play the team leader’s role, and you may allot the part of your team members to the people you work with, other students in your course or friends and family.
Please ensure that there are a minimum of 3 people including yourself in your team.
Task 4: Analysing team feedback
After collecting feedback on the meeting from all your team members, you will analyse it and complete the following actions.
Based on your analysis, fill in the following table and
iefly outline at least three common outcomes you’ve identified in the feedback in terms of improvement areas for future learning a
angements.
You can add more rows if you wish to include more.
Your points may demonstrate how you have analysed the feedback using techniques such as comparing and contrasting, challenging and reflecting.

Task 6: Develop recommendations for the organisation
The objective of this task is to provide a
ief report or update, via email, to management about the meeting and activities you have undertaken through the previous tasks. This task will demonstrate your ability to develop recommendations to improve the learning and development of critical and creative thinking across the organisation. It will also be the beginning of an improvement plan for future learning a
angements according to relevant legislation and organisation policies.
Your email should be relatively
ief and may or may not include any attachments. While it may contain similar information from the previous task, the email should have a more formal tone suitable for reporting to management. It should address the following points:

The team is cu
ently experiencing a significant lack of awareness regarding the 'Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)' guidelines, despite the organizational mandate from Mr. Robert Goodwin, the line manager, to encourage the use of PPE in the department. This lack of awareness poses a potential risk to the safety and well-being of team members, as adherence to PPE guidelines is crucial for preventing workplace injuries and maintaining a secure working environment.
Possible Problems Due to Lack of Awareness:
· Increased Safety Risks: Without proper awareness of the PPE guidelines, team members may inadvertently neglect the use of necessary protective equipment, exposing themselves to potential workplace hazards and increasing the risk of accidents or injuries.
· Non-Compliance with Regulations: Failure to follow the PPE guidelines could lead to non-compliance with safety regulations, potentially resulting in legal consequences for Gelos Enterprises. This could include fines, penalties, or other legal actions.
· Health Concerns: Inadequate use of PPE might contribute to health issues among team members. For example, exposure to harmful substances or environments without proper protection could lead to long-term health problems.
· Decreased Productivity: Workplace accidents or health issues arising from the lack of PPE awareness can lead to increased absenteeism, reduced productivity, and a negative impact on overall team morale.
· Reputation Damage: Incidents related to non-compliance with safety procedures can tarnish Gelos Enterprises' reputation, affecting its relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
· Increased Training Costs: Addressing safety issues resulting from a lack of awareness may necessitate additional training sessions and resources, leading to increased costs for the organization.
· Communication Breakdown: The absence of awareness may indicate a
eakdown in communication channels within the organization. Team members may not be receiving crucial information about safety procedures, highlighting a need for improved communication strategies.
· Employee Resistance: Some team members may resist the use of PPE due to a lack of understanding or misconceptions. Overcoming this resistance will require effective communication and educational initiatives.
Addressing these issues and promoting awareness of the 'Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)' is crucial for creating a safe, compliant, and productive work environment within the department.
2. Cu
ently, the ‘Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)’ guidelines are only available through voluntary access on the organisation website. Recommend critical and creative thinking models that you would like to use with your team to enable their critical and creative thinking skills to come up with solutions to increase awareness of the guidelines in your department.
To enhance critical and creative thinking skills within the team and generate innovative solutions to increase awareness of the 'Use of Personal Protective Equipment Procedure (PPE)' guidelines, I would recommend utilizing the following models:
· Six Thinking Hats:
· Purpose: This model encourages parallel thinking by assigning specific "hats" to different thinking modes.
· Application: Assign team members different thinking roles, such as the Information Hat (facts about PPE guidelines), the Creativity Hat (generating new ideas), and the Risk Assessment Hat (identifying potential issues). This ensures a comprehensive exploration of the problem from various perspectives.
· SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats):
· Purpose: Analyzing internal and external factors to identify potential solutions.
· Application: Conduct a SWOT analysis focused on the awareness of PPE guidelines. Identify strengths and weaknesses in the cu
ent approach and explore opportunities and threats related to improving awareness. This helps the team understand the context and prioritize solutions.
· Mind Mapping:
· Purpose: Visualizing...
