Option 1: After reading Chapters 1 and 2 from (Lee & Kotler, 2016) and watching the YouTube video by Jeff Jordan, discuss the differences between commercial marketing and social marketing including how different social marketing experts define social marketing.

Option 2: After watching the videos by Brene Brown on empathy and blame, describe your understanding of the difference between empathy and sympathy and discuss what role they might play in our efforts to influence health behavior.

Commercial marketing is being defined as a process to understand, target and advertise
product and services to customers with an objective to make profits in business. Market
esearch is a part of commercial marketing. It is a process of selling tangible products and
services with an objective of satisfying the customers for fulfilling their needs to make a
profit. It highly focuses upon physical products & services. The commercial marketing
organizations do not use social marketing campaigns. Commercial marketing is a way to
etain the value of all stakeholders while communicating about the marketing process to all
customers. Commercial marketing is a way to deliver what people want without making any
kind of judgement related to good or bad products. It gives higher emphasis to make money
from business through advertisements in larger target based groups of customers.
Commercial marketing is being done by companies to boost up their sales volume in small
span of time. It applies four P’s concept such as product, price, place and promotion.
Whereas social marketing is an adoption of commercial marketing which influences
ehaviour of customers in society for promoting welfare and improving personal lives of
customers. It is a way to sell the desired behaviour with an objective of achieving social gain
for providing benefits to the society. It highly focuses upon the aspects of changing social
ehaviour of the customers. Different kinds of marketing tools have been used for satisfying
the needs of society. There are different social marketing companies who implement the
social campaigns such as WHO’s, CDC, NGO’s, parks, Schools, community health centres
