Mu
ay River
The longest river in Australia is Mu
ay river covering 2508 kilometres in length,
source of water are freshly renewed by mountain Alps. The stretch of river is bend south
towards sea at Morgan for 315 kilometres meeting ocean at Lake Alexandrina. It is one of the
main river for the fresh water supply to the Australian community. For centuries it was not
polluted but at the end of 20th century industrial revolution starts polluting the mainstream of
iver by draining industrial wastes directly into the river once PCB commissioned the strict
law helped in reduction of pollution with stringent practise. However the mass polluted
components in the river still exists hence the analysis are performed for finding the vital
cause for the Mu
ay river degradation. The data from the spreadsheet are used for analysis
with the hypothetical reasoning of major pollutants with BOD, COD and associated
parameters.
Section 1- Data Quality Evaluation
The procedure framed by Klimisch Evaluation System (KES) is used as it's the best
eliable methodology for the analysis of pollution data. It is comprised of Reliability,
Relevance and Adequacy principles. The data given in spreadsheet aligns with all these three
terms as the main parameters of hard water constituents like Ca, Mg .., are given in depth
detail since early 1990's. The data's are highly reliable as it helps in analysis of the river...
