Summary:
The experiment conducted using batch and CSTR reactor gives the significant result on conversion of reactant NaOH and ethyl acetate (reagent) to sodium acetate and ethyl alcohol (product). The average of five concentration of exiting reactants from reactors are used to compute the rate of reaction and conversion yield. The plot of outlet concentration NaOH vs time gives us the average of 10 – 15 seconds for each flow rate to get stabilized for yielding product conversion and decreases of flow rate results in increase of time for reaction to stabilize. The plot between volumetric flow rates and NaOH average concentration gives the drop in NaOH concentration on decrease of flow rate which signifies the high conversion yield on reduced volume comparing to high volume flow rate.
The data collected from experiment and computed table gives us the increased rate of conversion at low volumetric flow rate, leads to drop in rate of reaction.
