1. Gender is refe
ed to a social construction that relates to the behaviour and the attributes that are based on the aspects of masculinity and femineity. This contemplates the internal perception of an individual about their gender identity based on the individual identifying themselves with a particular gender. Gender identity may be different from the sex assigned at birth. It is often contemplated that LGBTs face aspects of social acceptance in terms of gender and sexual orientation. Feminine male and masculine female has typically faced discrimination and was been stigmatized in society.
2. Gender stratification occurs when there is a significant gender difference and men are given a greater privilege and power over women transgender and gender non-conforming people. This ascertains male dominance in society and the aspect of citizens gives rise to discrimination in family, education, workplace, and politics. Sexism is an obvious aspect of gender stratification that has led to an increased aspect of gender inequality in the form of discrimination (Estes). In comparable positions in the workplace, women tend to receive lower wages than men which have contributed to a notion of making a woman feel inferior to men. The disposition of the feminist theory and the fundamental assumption that men are superior to women in the various aspects of politics is an obvious impact on gender stratification in society.
3. Sexual attitudes and practices in the contemporary context are liberal. However, it is obvious that a section of society has
oadly defined a standard that judges individuals on the basis of their sexual behaviour and discriminates between men and women. With men were more positively evaluated than women for showing the same sexual behaviours. Sexual scripts on the other hand outline the role of an individual in the form of sexual expression and sexual orientation. The present aspects of sexual scripts are mostly intrapsychic.
