A member of the Business Development Team has proposed a community outreach opportunity at a team meeting.Golden Years- local aged care centre is keen forD&N Printingto both sponsor and contribute to a Fundraiser for the centre leading up to Christmas. The holiday period was chosen because there are many more visitors to the centre at this time. The team agree that this is a good fit for a printing business, a very worthwhile event and set about planning the project.
However the Christmas timing does pose a problem.D&N Printingusually closes up shop for approximately 10 days over the holiday period. As the Business Development Manager, you are going to need your interpersonal and leadership skills to get some team members on board and help with this project, part of which will run right up to Christmas Eve - three days after the print shop closes for the holiday break.
You run a brainstorming session with your multi-skilled team to introduce the project and to ask everyone for ideas for it. Here's the result:-
·
Firstlyeveryone agreed that it was a very worthwhile cause and that it would be a privilege to help the centre.
·
To raise the funds,D&N Printingwould produce and print calendars, Christmas card sets and blank card sets.
·
The printed items are to be promoted on theGolden YearsandD&N Printing's websites and social channels.
·
All ofD&N Printing's clients as well as all of the Golden Years Aged Care Centre's mailing list are to be offered the card sets and calendars as well as the opportunity to support the fundraiser
·
A media release is to be written and distributed so that news of the event is covered in local print.
·
The online promotions are to be run using the websites and mailing lists of both D&N and Golden Years.
·
There is to be a booth at Golden Years for two weeks each evening up until Christmas Eve,which is to be manned by two Business Development staff.
·
On Christmas Eve, there will be a Christmas Carol Choir to close the event.
