Students are required to conduct self-reflection associated with personal learning. You are required to identify the key issues and findings from your learning outcomes such as quiz, critical review and proposal – what worked, what did not work, and how you and the group could improve next time. Reflection on learning and progress is based on the following:
1. What you have found the most interesting aspect of this course.
2. How your thinking about this course developed as you went through the semester.
3. Now that you have finished the work, what part of the process would you say you enjoyed the most and why?
4. Were there any surprises along the way?
5. How will this course contribute to your understanding of information systems?
6. What have I learnt about the subject? What have I learnt about my own abilities as a manage
professional.
7. Reflection on Peers: who in my team has helped most/least & how, what message do I want to give to help teammates improve.

Introduction
With the rapid changes in the business environment and procedures, the role of Management Information Systems has also evolved drastically. Throughout this course, my learnings covered all about the effective use of data for the management decision-making deploying systems, which provide crisp and relevant information as and when needed at the planning, operational and control levels within the organization. The critical mix of theory, practical examples of recent trends, quizzes, reviews and proposals presented an ideal approach for the team to learn the key aspects of the course. It provided me with the applications of MIS in big, mid and small enterprises and the domains covered by its deployment.
Reflection on Course Learnings, Outcomes and Areas of Improvement
The entire course outline was structured in such a way to impart in me, a comprehensive understanding of the role of MIS, its components, the jurisdiction areas, types, advantages and disadvantages across multiple industry domains. Thorough knowledge was gained about the deployment of Management Information Systems including planning, information requirements, criteria matching, implications for organizational structure and designing the overall system. In addition, the various stakeholders involved in this system such as different levels of management and the implications of organizational culture, values and growth in modern age information systems helped me to gauge the applicability of these on a more realistic level.
The most interesting aspect of this course has been the application in several areas of an organization’s working and the level of dependence and reliance on these systems for business decision making. As stated by Laudon and Laudon (2015), the consistency in data handling and ability to adapt with any kind of dynamic environment makes these systems an inevitable for achieving sound business results. The systems result in an integration of the whole organization in term of various functional departments and hence contribute in the collective working of these departments, making managerial control at the firm’s level much easier to achieve certain organizational goals.
