Relapse Prevention Student Assignment: Poster Presentation
There is one major assignment for this course. It is worth 25% of the overall course grade. It is
due the last day of the course, Session 15.
Students will create an informational poster on their topic and present the poster to the class.
The presentation should be approximately 5-10 minutes in length. They will also create a
ibliography that references the sources they used.
Topics for the poster presentation will be randomly assigned by the instructor, although some
instructors may permit students to devise topics of their own pending instructor approval.

How is the Poster Presentation Graded?
The total for this project is 25%.
Poster (worth 15% of the 25%)
A good poster shows the following characteristics:
• Succinctly states the relevant information
• Information is substantive and organized logically
• Uses images, charts, graphs, mixed media etc. to illustrate the points made
• Poster’s graphic design is easy to read and attractive
• Assembly of the poster is neat and tidy (things are glued or taped down properly, images
and text have been cut out carefully, etc.)

Presentation (worth 5% of the 25%)
A good presentation shows the following characteristics:
• Is the co
ect length
• Speaker speaks clearly (no mumbling!) and at the right pace (not to fast, not too slow)
• Speaker makes eye contact with the audience rather than reading off notes
• Displays confidence in what she or he learned
• Speaker presents information in a logical and straightforward matter
Bibliography (worth 5% of the 25%)
A good bibliography shows the following characteristics:
• Is typed and includes your name and student number
• Uses a consistent format (instructor can suggest resources for this)
• Contains the co
ect number of entries (this project should have at least 3 appropriate
citations—no Wikipedia or About.com!).
