Disease 1: Psoriasis
History, Signs and Diagnosis
Psoriasis is one of the skin diseases, which have no certain cure so far. It is the prevention and management of the existing symptoms, which leads to comfort from itching and redness. There are many types of Psoriasis in people and it can infect mainly knees, elbows and trunk areas, depending upon the level of infection and the kind of environment, in which the individual has lived so far (Hoegler et al.).
This issue can be related to family history because it can pass on from generation to the other. If environmental factors are considered, Psoriasis spreads rapidly in communities where people live in a cool and dry atmosphere for a long time. Additionally, the symptoms include redness, itching at the points of soreness, swelling in some types of Psoriasis as well as cracked skin along with thickened nails (Hoegler et al.).
Psoriasis can be such as small patches on the skin surface and it can subside for a particular time span. It recurs at frequent intervals as well. It can also spread over large areas with large patches, if initial symptoms are ignored. The need to see a doctor happens when the initial symptoms do not disappear with basic care given to skin or there is some visible change in the color of skin, which looks odd and discomforting (Hoegler et al.).
