Community policing is a policing strategy that is based on the idea that the interaction 
and support of the community can help to control crime (Somerville, 2009). In simple words, 
community policing is related to the efforts and support of people to police to control criminal 
activities from society such as social disorder, illegal activities, etc. and ensure public safety. 
This is also known as neighborhood policing (Brogden & Nijhar, 2013). Under this strategy, the 
members of the community help to spot the suspects, arrest vandals and bring problems to the 
attention of police. The police and police department are involved as the members of the 
community (Vito, Maahs & Holmes, 2006). 
The concept of community policing can be viewed as both conservative and liberal 
approaches. Conservative approach of community policing facilitates police to follow significant 
latitude during investigation and problem solving process, which is based on both legal and
