Performance management is important for the employees as it can make or
eak them. It is quite simple to explain. If employee’s performance will be manage or regulate on timely basis, company will be kept informed about the employees’ working quality and quantity from time to time. Leader can know about the strengths and weaknesses of the employee. If there is any area in which the employee needs help, they will provide with it in the form of training (DeNisi & Murphy, 2017).
Similarly, in case of strengths, employees will get to enjoy performance appraisals. Employees need feedback from time to time in order to improve their performance. In addition, leader cannot give a feedback until and unless, h/she has kept an eye or manage the performance of employee. In other words, performance management is important for employee’s career progression and improves engagement in organization’s decision. Feedback is a good example that reflects positive collaboration between employee and the leader (Buckingham & Coffman, 2014).
