Introduction
Ageism and adultism is a social problem that is widely present in the society targeting
weaker segment of the population. Ageism is mistreatment of the older adults and treating them
without respect and finding ways to exploit them. Adultism is mistreatment of young people and
exploiting them. Adultism results in child labor, children sexually exploited, child slavery,
interfering in every decision of youth and making them act at the will of the elders. In the case of
Ageism old people are financially exploited and ill-treated by many people. Older adults face
more workplace discrimination, and their opinions and suggestions are never respected (Adams
et al., 2013). Both ageism and adultism are highly prevalent in every place, and it is resulting in
more trouble to both young and old people. Young and old people are not treated well by the
society as a whole, and they face more social discrimination in some or other way.
Discrimination is present in the society, and that requires more changes in the people’s attitude to
educe their impact.

Adultism is prevalent in every region of the world, and it is essential for the adult to
understand the problem that is faced by the children in the society and provide a positive
ambiance and support to handle them efficiently (Bell, n.d.). The article “Understanding

have the confidence to express their issues and problems that are faced by them to the elders. The
article emphasized the importance of a world without adultism as they are creating adverse

a major problem faced by the entire world (Healey, 2013). The report indicates about the
increase in the growth of old age population and the problems faced by them. When there is an
increase in the elderly population, and the society is discriminating them then the entire old age
society will face more trouble. Age discrimination is highly present in the employment that is
causing more trouble to the economic system and the old people (Healey, 2013). With the
increase in the longevity of the life, there is more requirement for financial assistance, and it
equires the entire society to make some changes that will provide a better life for growing
elderly population in the world. There is prejudice in the society about the old people, and they
are not treated well and considered as a part of the society. It is resulting in creating more trouble
to their wellbeing (Healey, 2013). There is a higher level of discrimination present in the world
that is causing more trouble to all people. There should be a change in the society’s treatment of
old people, and they should be given a new opportunity as they deserve better treatment and
status in the society.

disclosed a stereotyped behavior in case of an old employee working in the workplace. There is a
