Objective:
The technique chromatography is widely and extensively used in chemist in molecule research, analysis and synthesis. It is very effective tool when comes to molecules and three types are commonly used column, thin-layer and gas chromatography in this experiment we focussing on column and followed by thin-layer where rest of the technique are advanced to be used in research/industrial scale (high operating cost). In this column chromatography finely grounded solid is used as stationary phase in glass tube and mobile phase as solvent and solute to be separated as shown in below setup figure. The column chromatography is ideally suitable for separation of non-volatile mixtures as volatile evaporation makes column ineffective due to its quick dryness.
