Introduction
The study involves in the analysis of the interview responses that were given by John, who has been working with a private bank for the last three and a half years. The analysis of the interview will help in understanding the job satisfaction level of the employee within the organization and the extent the performance management of the organization is responsible in the retention of the employees for a longer span of time.
1. Determining Why That Person has Remained in the Position for so Long
John had been working for the corporate bank for the last three and a half years. The first thing why John chose to continue with this company for so long is its culture. The work culture and the collective thinking as well as the behaviour of the workforce motivated John to perform his best. The way of working has allowed John to build an emotional connection with the company. This has resulted in creating a sense of pride as well as exclusiveness within the employees (Cappelli & Tavis, 2016).
In addition, in the last three years, John had received company incentives and bonuses that have motivated him to work harder within the organization. The salary, according to John, provided by the bank to their employees, is cu
ently one of the competitive remunerations. John has grown comfortable working in the company’s environment as his manager had been encouraging him to develop his talents. He was provided with training such as corporate ethics and team management.
Further, according to John, the company has been readily adopting changes in terms of team management and employee training for skill developments. The training was provided online, as well as offline. The offline training was classroom-based. However, John took most of the training online, which allowed him to take the training after his work, during his free time.
According to him, the company had been constantly invested in the growth of the employees, which have motivated him to continue his tenure for so many years with the organization. Another aspect that has also made John continue working with the bank was his ability to contribute and work in a challenging situation. According to John, in the last few years of his experience with the bank, he had been performing better and have found himself develop in terms of handling challenging situations.
He has been provided with responsibilities by the senior managers who have given him the drive to perform better. His ability to perform better has
ought in immense appreciation from his team members as well as from his peers. Further, the organization had been considerate to employees like John in terms of balancing their professional and personal lives. The bank does not expect the employees to work on weekends or on extra days.
In case of emergencies, when the employees do have to work on weekends, then they are compensated with a day's salary and leave. This has allowed John to balance his professional life with his personal life. John believes with the kind of opportunities, which the organization provides, employees such as John will be able to grow in his career within the organization.
