ASSIGNMENT TWO: MANAGEMENT RESEARCH
According to Austin and Pinkleton (2015), effective communication is the prerequisite requirement of every organization who wants to flourish their business. It helps the managers in performing their basic acts such as planning, controlling and motivating the employees to thrive for better. Communication can be described as the building blocks of the foundation of the organization (Fan et al. 2015). The main advantages of effective communication and how it can enhance the business is mentioned in the following points:
1. Communication acts as a source of information for the employees and helps them to know what they are expected to do or perform. Effective communication
idges the gap between the employees and the managers thus enriching the quality of work.
2. Effective communication and socializing helps the managers to understand the needs and demands of the customers (Thomson et al. 2015). Thus the managers can describe their needs to the employees and help them perform as per the needs of the organization.
3. Effective communication and understanding each other within the team members helps in building up a team. This in return will affect the morale and working satisfaction of the employees.
4. In an organization where employees are given the freedom of speech to openly discuss any ideas without the fear of ridicule and hesitating is more likely to
ing new ideas. With effective communication these ideas can be shared with the managers and thus can help to
ing innovation in the organization.
5. Effective communication helps in creating a strong management which in return increases the productivity for the organization. Drake and Ring (2016) added it also helps the management understand their employees easily and
ing out the motivation in them.
6. Effective communication is the sign of a transparent work place. Communication helps to clear out any kind of miscommunication among the employees and even the management. This helps in implanting the values of ethics of work morale among the employees and makes a better workplace.
As it is evident that effective communication holds such an important place for the benefit of the organization so it is important to establish the culture of efficient communication in the organization. Some of the methods to enhance effective communication are mentioned as follows:
Set proper goals and expectations: It is the duty of the managers to set clear goals for the group as well as individuals. The target should be given within the limits of the employees and they should have clear idea of what the organization is asking from them (Gheibi et al. 2018). It would be easier for the employees as well to work and fulfill the expectation of the organization.
Deliver loud and clear message: It is always advisable that while delivering message or instructions the manager must ensure that the employees understand them. The message should be delivered in plain and simple language to make sure everyone has clear idea of what is being told to them.
Choose the delivery medium: While a message is needed to be conveyed to the employees the best way of delivery is face to face. But now with the development of information and technology several tools are invented that helps to convey the message to an individual or a groups at the same time (Islam and Mamun, 2017). Forwarding emails can also be a medium of forwarding messages.
Involvement of the employees: Effective communication means taking the ideas of all the employees. So while discussing about a new project the manager can organize open meetings where every employee can have their opinion. Then assigning them with group activities also ensures the employees work in collaboration with each other and have a unity amongst themselves.
Partanen (2018) opined it is very important to observe and understand the performance of each individual to understand the productivity of the organization. To understand the business in a better way the strategy of SWOT analysis is followed. The term SWOT is the acronym for the Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats and has been an integral part of the proper business management. Each element of the SWOT is discussed in the following points to help understanding how if affects business and how can I contribute.
· Strength: Students while emerging in the new word of business has to find what they are best in doing so that they can give their full effort for helping the organization. In...
