Introduction:
The cu
ent project discusses the significance of innovation and creativity in organisational setting and
inging in critical comprehension of the factors, models, theories, processes and methods associated with them. The project makes tries to establish the fact that innovation is critical and proper assessment of the internal as well as the external market is necessary. In the cu
ent project Cosmos, has been chosen as practice environment to assess the real life implication of innovation and creativity in organisational setting. Cosmos is a travel organising company operating in Australia, and offers its customers best quality services at very competitive price point.
Planning the introduction of innovative thinking and practices in the target organisation, including:
Identification and Accessibility of Adequate Resources for Innovation
Being a part of Cosmos, I realised that in order to identify the resources at disposal of the company, I need to collect data, and therefore, I conducted internal survey with closed-ended questions, which led me to my objective. Next, for the innovation process, I selected a few innovative approaches and gradually imposed the conditions of time and money, making only one innovation fine fulfilment, which technically is the applied form of innovation funnel.
Organisational Mechanisms, Systems and Processes for Supporting Innovation
In order to formulate organisational mechanism that promote innovation, I communicated with the managers of culinary, transport and lodging department managers, along with the accounts department and collected the data, which after a minute observation made me identify the areas of concern and the scope of innovation available. I felt that to promote innovation, the managers of each department would require information at every stage of innovation from the co
esponding managers, making the process delayed, therefore, I used LAN to connect all the managers to a centralised database.
Communication, Consultation and Engagement with Key Stakeholders
Realising the fact that innovation requires teamwork and cooperation, I approached all the stakeholders of the company using formal emails, while I used video conference class for consultation. As mentioned by Sharma and Khatri (2019), the use of digital communication system, saves time as it can reach many people within a very small fraction of time. However, to engage the stakeholders, instead of using digital methods, I used offline presentation, which had pictorial and texted data, making the innovation needs, significance and conditions enough to grasp the interest of the stakeholders.
