I don't know if the bottom is correct should I use the density og ethanol to work it out or is mine correct?

S2O32- is Sodium Thiosulphate

Cr2O72-is Dichromate

C2H5OH is Ethanol

6 mol of S2O32-is equivalent to 1 mol of Cr2O72-

2 mol of Cr2O72-is equivalent to 3 mol of C2H5OH

1 mol of S2O32-is equivalent to 0.25 mol of C2H5OH

Concentration x volume / 1000

0.03 (given concentrationSodium Thiosulphate) of x 8.2 / 1000

=0.000246mol

Because: 1 mol of S2O32-is equivalent to 0.25 mol of C2H5OH

XXXXXXXXXX / 4 = 0.0000615mol

Because we diluted the wine 1:50 we

XXXXXXXXXXx 50 = XXXXXXXXXXmoles in 1 ml

We need to work out moles / dm3

XXXXXXXXXXmoles in 1 ml x 100 = XXXXXXXXXXmoles of ethanol in 100ml

We need to work out the ABV

Mr x mol = mass

46.08 (mass of alcohol) x XXXXXXXXXXdensity)

=14.167 %

Your calculations are co
ect, upto calculation of number of mols of ethanol that should be present in
the given sample of wine. But, I need to know, how much mL of wine was used up for determination. we
got 0.0000615mol of ethanol, in how much of mL of wine (is it 1 mL wine) , if we know...
