Introduction
Competitive analysis and creating competitive advantage is important for the organizations to survive in the competitive environment. For this the organizations use different analysis tools which can help in making the strategies and help in competing in the competitive environment. In this paper we would be analysing an Australian company of pharmaceutical industry and Australian Childcare company. We would be analysing the company through Five force Analysis and Porter’s three generic strategies.
Five force Analysis of Australian Pharmaceutical Company
The pharmaceuticals market consists of ethical drugs which are used by the healthcare market. Pharmaceutical market of Australia has been growing at a steady rate over past few years. In the year 2016, the total revenue of pharmaceutical companies was $22.9 billion.
Five force Analysis:
Bargaining power of the buyers:
The pharmaceutical manufacturers sell its drugs to the wholesalers which then sells the products to the retailers or to the healthcare centres. To buy the product or the drug, usually the prescription is required, thus the marketing of the pharmaceuticals plays a crucial role as they are the one who make significant role in the prescription of the drug. There are different drugs which are available for the treatment of the medical condition and the prescription of the drug is highly based on the efficacy, ease of use, side effects of the drug and its cost effectiveness. Thus, the bargaining power of buyers is high and have increased over the past years because of the increase in the healthcare costs and increasing availability of generic medicines. Bargaining power of the suppliers:
There are many players in the pharmaceutical market and the leading pharma companies like Australian pharmaceutical company has major investment in the chemical manufacturing which has reduced the efficacy with the suppliers. The pharma companies usually recruits the sourcing manager which helps in reducing the bargaining power of the suppliers and getting the sources easily. With numerous suppliers available in the market, the reliance on particular suppliers have reduced and the companies look for the specialized facilities, sterile processing and biological materials to manufacture the medicines....
