CEN-EN 13606 : European standard for health information communication
ISO TC 215 : Basically laid out guidelines for EMR and also provided technical specification standards
EDI : Electronic Data Interchange to maintain basic code for transmitting patient information

But to qualify for that, a clinician needs to satisfy a set of 15 core meaningful use parameters and a hospital needs to satisfy 14

Meaningful use – STAGE 1, STAGE II & stage iiI
Stage 1 – Focusses on EMR adoption and data collection from the right sources with zero bias
Stage II – Focusses on coordination in patient care and information exchange through private and secure mode
Stage III – Focusses on purely end outcomes and gives in right feedback to improve on the same, a more organised version of Stage II
