The site I have chosen is located in Japanese town of San Francisco. It is the Peace pagoda which is located between Post and Geary streets. The town is also called Nihonmachi. It is between Japan Center Mall and Nihonmachi mall. It was constructed in the 1960s. It was designed by Yashiro Taniguchi.
The pagoda was a symbol of peace between Japan and the USA. It was built to provide a stable and peaceful friendship between the two countries like the Statue of Liberty as it did for France and the USA. The pagoda is a stupa which is the symbol of peace for everyone. I believe this site should be a historical landmark as it represents a
idge between the people and the countries even after a hideous war.
