GBA640 Project Requirements (30 points)
1. Your dataset must be in Excel format and consist of at least 250 total observations and at least 4 separate variables or attributes . It should contain multiple years of data so that you can perform some regression modeling. The more observations and years of data the better the dataset in terms of the scope of your analysis.
2. You should demonstrate the following capabilities with Excel and/or Megastat using your dataset. I have assigned %s to each technique for grading purposes so please make sure that you demonstrate each of the applicable techniques to get full credit.
a. Histogram, Boxplot, Scatterplots, Correlation, Normality testing/ Empirical Rules(15%)
b. Pivot tables (10%), Sampling techniques (10%), Sampling Distribution(5%), Binomial Distribution (if applicable-5%), Confidence Intervals (Mean and Proportion) (10%), Hypothesis Testing (Mean and Proportion) (10%), Chi Square Tests(10%), Time Series/Regression analysis(10%), Optimization(10%-if applicable)
c. Creativity and Conclusions Based on your Thesis Questions (15-25%)
3. Your Thesis statement should contain a list of questions you want to answer with your dataset. In determining the answers to these questions, you should utilize the techniques mentioned above. Please clearly label each of the techniques in your analysis output tabs.
4. Create a tab in Excel that contains your dataset and one that contains your Updated Thesis statement and the questions that you are investigating with the dataset you have collected. You should show the results of the answers to your questions in separate Excel tabs that are labeled (i.e., Histogram, Confidence Interval, Time Series Analysis, etc). In each of these tabs, clearly interpret the results and explain your conclusions. Also, create a tab for Projects Conclusions and summarize your results and the analysis that you have completed.
