Some of the key barriers to small business internationalization include limited personnel resources and financial resources to devote towards international business operations. Lack of scale to expand and produce goods in huge quantity are also limitations. Top management with limited to no experience of international operation do not want to venture into risky operations. Contextual and environmental issues become more complex in international operations (Vendrell-Herrero, Gomes, Mellahi & Child, 2017).
Overcoming small business barriers to internationalization by gaining sufficient international experience by the top management. Overcoming fears by developing international mindset and be risk aversive are also some ways.
