Emotional intelligence (EI) is the capability of leaders or managers in an organization to control their emotions and use them intelligently at such instances, where their emotions can be of some useful purpose. Therefore, leaders, who are emotionally intelligent or who are trying to become one, eventually get the benefit of managing critical situations in the workplace without creating any havoc or upheaval amongst the employees.
