1. The Problem
The main problem outlined in the case study is the cord-cutting issue and the cost of bundled package. The internet revolution has led to cancellation of subscriptions in the favor of Internet-delivered programming. MVPDs sold bundled package to the customers for a subscription fee. There were a number of channels in the package, which were not preferred by the customer. 
2. The Pertinent Facts
In 2016, there were around 15 to 20% of the households, who had never purchased a subscription to the television. A significant percentage of the millennial preferred using internet for watching television over the normal subscription system. There was an increase in the use of set-up box connected through internet in the United States in the year 2013. Original programming was one of the most powerful driver of growth for MVPDs. There was a rapid increase in the number of scripted programs offered by OTT services to 92 by the year 2017. 
Netflix and Amazon were investing heavy in the scripted content business offered through online subscription. The programming budget of Netflix had increased to $6 billion due to increase in the number of subscribers. The market competition was increasing at a fast pace, which indicated the fierce competition in the online content landscape. The gross add revenue of the companies was also increasing at a rapid pace. YouTube has the largest subscriber base across the globe. The number of subscribers of YouTube in United States was 176 million users only. 
This indicates the size of the video content market in the United States alone. Heavy investment was being made by Netflix and Amazon Prime to capture the market share of the disrupting television business. 
3. Alternative Options to Deal with the Problem
As per the details outline in the case study, Hulu has four options or sources or revenue. The first solution was to sell the subscription to a skinny bundle of programming.
