Leadership as a quality expands beyond the boundaries of theory. It is something that can be noted within the practices maintained by those in positions of power. Leadership, by definition is a set of character traits that enables individuals to positively affect their subordinates in order to achieve certain desired and common goals. We come across many leaders during the course of our life but some leaders leave greater impacts on us than others. This is due to their practical implementation of theoretical traits relevant to time and situation.
 I had observed an example of successful and practical leadership in the head of the Arts Department in my college, Mrs Amy Stewart.  I watched her closely since she was both my mentor as well as the Head of the Arts department. I noticed that I wasn’t the only one who got inspired by her. Many teachers admired her. One of them told me while talking about her, ‘She makes you want to do well’. I could relate to that, because even though she didn’t take any of our classes, her short talks to us every once in a while inspired us a lot.
She exhibited great leadership qualities in more than one way. Inspirational talking was just one of her great traits. More importantly, she cared for her staff’s well-being genuinely.
