This hotel has helped the visiting customers receive a warm and lavish experience of hospitality that is different due to their boutique hotel approach and ambience. However, cu
ently, due to the increasing globalisation in the hospitality market, the hotel has been facing issues regarding their obsolete style of communicating with the customers, with respect to keeping them informed about it. 1.0 Introduction
1.1 Background
Bellerive House is a small-sized hotel situated in Hobart, which has been generating satisfactory results for its premium customers since its beginning in 2006 (Great Small Hotels, 2018). Although its number of rooms are less, however, it is a highly popular choice for customers in the hospitality industry for its décor and ambience.
1.2 Problem
Nevertheless, its key issue lies in its ineffectiveness in applying business communication strategies that could be beneficial for reaching large number of customers worldwide. Lack of exposure to social media and online marketing trends have led to its limited visibility amongst its competitors in hospitality market (Australia Postal Corporation, 2016).
1.3 Purpose of the Report
Hence, the cu
ent report aims to discuss the identified issue, analyse the findings in this context and based on these, generate useful recommendations for this organisation so that their business communication issue could be mitigated. This report is based on the resource analysis plan previously conducted and is intended towards the Chief Executive Officer of this Hotel.
2.0 Discussion
2.1 Theme 1: Increased focus on internal marketing in the hotel industry
From the analysis of the hotel’s business communication issues, it has been evident that they do not have a proper external marketing communication system. Therefore, in order to strengthen their external marketing, they first need to improve their internal marketing strategies. As stated by Jani and Han (2014), internal marketing is the strategy to increase awareness about an organisation amongst its internal stakeholders that is employees, so that the organisation’s mission, vision, goals, objectives, and products or services are well known to them.
Hence, if the employees are well aware of these, they will also believe in the organisation’s intentions to attain competitive edge, and they will contribute to foster it. Therefore, in case of Bellerive House, if the employees are made aware of the organisational objective of this hotel, they will feel associated with their workplace and serve the visiting customers with more compassion. Moreover, as supported by Huang and Rundle-Thiele (2014), customers in the hospitality industry mainly look for comfort and warmth in the hospitality services that they are opting for, hence, if the employees promote the
and in a positive light, they would opt for that particular hotel over the others in competition.
Therefore, internal marketing can help developing bonding with employees towards organisation largely. In case of Bellerive...
