A)Use your approximation to predict the most likely color of the solution at 700nm, 600nm, 400nm?
B)The lambda max is used because the absorbance data collected at that point minimizes error. The error source comes from the fact that when the light is separated to produce a single wavelength the grating doesn’t quite produce a single wavelength (i.e., though the instrument says “555 nm” the light could be XXXXXXXXXXnm because of how difficult it is to produce a single wavelength.) The Beer-Lambert relationship is true for all points on the graph, so why is the error minimized at lambda max?
C)Define the range of wavelengths of light typically associated with “UV-Vis”.

A) Use your approximation to predict the most likely color of the solution at 700nm, 600nm, 400nm?
Solution
Less abso
ance More transmittance and color is seen due to transmitted light, Hence
At 700nm = red color Solution
At 600nm =Orange Color Solution ( because of higher wavelength of Red color it will be abso
ed more)
At 400nm = Violet color solution
B) The lambda max is used because the abso
ance data collected at that point minimizes e
or. The e
or source
comes from the fact that when the...
