Increasing Diversity in Media 
The meaning of diversity has always been under-theorized and problematic, but the media 
cannot ignore it as the world is marked by diversity and immigration. America is a country 
where people from different cultures, countries, and religions live and they are large in 
number. Some of them came to America very long ago and they have adopted the American 
culture completely and have become mainstream Americans. Being a responsible corporate 
citizen, media companies have responsibility to promote diversity in reporting. There are a 
many things that media companies can do but we will focus on three ways through which 
they can enhance diversity.      
 First, TV programs should have casts that reflect ethnic diversity that exists in the 
society at large. Also, media companies should ensure that news reporting is balanced, fair, 
and color-blind.
