Crime and Criminal Behavior 
Just like other constituents of the society, crime and respective criminal behavior is also 
considered as of the integral part of the society. It generally exists in the society because of 
aggressive attitude, juvenile delinquency and misguided behavior of the youths or individual 
performing illegal activities and destruction of public property. Although such activities has no 
continuous trend but an effort has been made by several law enforcement agencies to make the 
data statistical and systematic. One of such efforts has been made by the Associations of Chiefs 
of Police by the development of the program named as Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) 
Program, which acts as the reliable and uniform crime statistics for the national purpose uses. 
FBI is the leading agency which bears the responsibility to collect, publish and archive those 
statistical datasets. 
 With a broader perspective criminal offence has been divided in two main categories, as 
one of violent crimes and other are property crimes. Under the violent crime category mostly the 
crimes are included which causes physical injury or metal trauma to victim; this category 
generally includes crimes like aggravated assault, robbery, murder and forcible rape cases.
