Part 1: Ethics, Culture and Performance
1) Identifying and Analysing 2 Social Ethical Issues at Hu
ard Foods (1.3)
Hu
ard Foods has always been involved in ethical business practices and working towards noble community causes. It has funded students, who study food technology in Massey University as well as supported various upliftment in New Zealand (Hu
ards, 2013). However, like any other business firms, it also has to abide by business ethics, violation of which leads to social ethical issues.
Putting High Sugar Contents in Cereals Series for Children
Hu
ard Foods has faced a social ethical issue in terms of putting high sugar contents in their cereals series for children. High sugar contents in Hu
ard’s children cereal products is a major concern as it affects their health, thus causing social harm (Jonathan, 2003).
Issue of Wages with Employees
On the other hand, Hu
ard Foods has faced another social ethical issue in terms of having a prevailing issue of wages with its employees. In its Triple Bottom Line Report, there is not sufficient information on their focus, if any; they have towards improving their employee-employer relations, which have remained tumultuous since a long time due to wages issues (Higgins, 2001).
2) Analysing 3 Social Ethical Issues, Auckland not identified at Hu
ard Foods (1.4)
Social ethical issues have been prevailing in companies since ages. With the advent of technology, the reasons for social ethical issues are changing, which give rise to modern social ethical issues, which might not be identified in the organisation particularly. In case of Hu
ard Foods, three such modern issues are equality of opportunity, individual rights, and occupational health and safety.
Equality of Opportunity
    The report pertaining to Hu
ards social behaviour does not show any particulars about their attempts, whether or not, they believe in providing equal opportunities to their employees in the workplace or equal employment opportunities. Although there are large numbers of male and female employees working in the company; however, it could not be identified if they follow the cu
ent trend of employing equal number of employees from each gender or not. For example, this modern issue can be found in the New Zealand dairy company named Fonte
a, where they are cu
ently, trying to adopt sustainability as a form of imparting employee wellbeing and mitigating inequality of opportunities for them in their company (Fonte
a, 2017).
Individual Rights
Individualism is a virtue rarely supported in organisations; however, it is of great importance due to the huge pool of various talents that are displayed because of it. In Hu
ards, frequent mentions of teamwork, oneness and working towards a common cause...
