A crime is defined as any act that is punishable by law. The person who commits the act is called a criminal. We often end up asking ourselves, Who is a criminal? What makes a criminal? That person is very much human like us. He walks amongst us. Then what is it that makes him different from others. What leads him to commit crimes? Many factors are involved in the development of a criminal mentality, which include up
inging, education, empathy, extreme situations in life. But they all have one thing in common. All these factors serve as markers for a criminal mindset. It is the duty of the common man to recognize these markers, and do something to prevent anything bad from happening.
This can be done in a number of ways. The first step is “prevention”. This can be achieved starting at a very low level, i.e., by educating the youth about proper decision making, by teaching them about the effect of their decisions on the lives of other people. It is very important to have a healthy and
oad mindset to understand the things that go around us in our everyday lives. Several trivial parts of our su
oundings may turn out to be responsible for the development of a criminal mindset. Efforts must be made to instill good values starting at a very young age. For those who have already walked the wrong path, there should be just and legal system to
ing them to justice. This can be in the form of punishments. The ultimate goal must be to make the criminal feel repentant, and to make sure the same things are not repeated in the future. The punishment philosophies should be such that they allow the accused to present their case, thus giving him a fair chance. Also, it should give him a chance to repent for the crimes committed. The most part however, is that the people who are involved in the legal system should be unbiased and disinterested.
The way we think about the people around us, depends a lot on the kind of society we live in. Some people are very much inclined to their neighbours and wants to help them in all the need, while some people stay within themselves. Our values and culture mostly define who we are. But circumstances can change people and can transform them in criminals from good human beings. Through my education I have seen people from different religion and places and a lot of diversity has been observed in the thought process. No two person in can think the same. Social media, news, television are all the places where we can get any type of information we want. In recent days kids from very early age are addicted to television and mobile phone by which they know a lot of things which are not better for their
ain development. Under age shows and drams which are related to real life worlds creates a big impact on the child when they grow up.
