Target Corporation is 8th largest American Super-chain retailing stores headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was founded by George Dayton and John Geisse as a discount store operating in USA. Soon due to huge demand from the customers of cheap but high quality
ands, Target Corporation was able to expand their stores with new store formats in the year 1990. Presently the company’s net revenue as on 2018 is $71.879 billion. The various products that are available in Target Corporation are electronics, groceries, beauty and baby products, home and office appliances, jewelery, food and toys. There are more than 1800 stores of Target throughout USA and are likely to expand more such discount stores through its hypermarket and small format stores like the City Target and faster counter stores like Target Express (Target- A Bulls eye view).
Based on the cash flow statement of Target Corporation as on the 2018, it can be observed that the cash dividends paid by the company to the investors were $1338 million. This states that the shareholders of the companies are paid well in the form of dividend. Also in 2018, it is noticed that there has been a drastic reduction in the long term loan. This signifies that the company is servicing the interests on time. Finally, compared to the year 2017, in 2018 the Net Income of the company has grown by 6.25%. Thus it can be stated that the company is growing and it is a positive indicator for the shareholders and potential investors’ point of view. The only risk that was faced by Target Corporation was when the company suffered security
each of the customer credit card details. Apart from that its store in Canada was not a success in 2010 (Target Corporation).
