Favor: Nature refers to characteristics or traits that are inherited from ancestors and are genetic in 
origin. Our basic personality traits are determined genetically. Heredity plays an important part 
in human intelligence and overall personality. Eyes colors, curly or straight hair, pigmentation of 
skin are all functions of genes we inherit. 
Against: Nature can lead to transmission of genetic disorder from the parents to their children. 
Generally if the parents are suffering from high blood pressure then the chances of child to be 
suffering from high blood pressure increases. And also antisocial behavior can be inherited from 
the parents. 
Nurture 
Favor: Nurture influences the behavioral aspects of the person and is derived by the environment 
in which we are bought up in i.e., our behavior depends upon our life experiences. For example 
if the person is given good education and is given good environment then he will adopt the 
positive attitude. 
Against: If the child is born in a reputed family then also he can become criminal due to the 
things going on in the environment or he/she can be forced to commit crime due to the poor 
circumstances.
