  • Identify four specific items relating to vacation leave and vacation pay that will have to be addressed in the policy to ensure compliance with the employment/labour standards in each jurisdiction.

The paid leaves are paid according to various labour laws in the two jurisdictions. The paid leave is limited to only 8 days for Manitoba whereas in Yukon it is for 9 days. Hence, the paid leaves are beneficial for the employees working in Yukon. This is due to the fact that the employees in Yukon will receive an additional day of leave in comparison to the employees of Manitoba.
There will be similarities in the paid leaves for these two jurisdictions for the five festivals which are New Year Eve, Good Friday, Christmas Das, Canada Day and the Labour Day. Further, the employees must be provided leaves for getting rest and for enjoying with their families. But if these leaves fall on Saturday and Sundays, then it may reduce the competitiveness of the company. We can give Monday as a holiday to the employees if the above holidays fall on Saturday or Sundays.
