Introduction
There were various features of Malintzin which were being discovered by the scholars and the researchers of the community. She was an Indian woman and was named Malintzin which essentially means twist on the thighs. Malintzin entered the history based on the European name when she was being Christianised or baptized. ived from the Central coastal region of Mexico. From her childhood she was very poor and was being sold to the merchant who then sold her to the people of south. She therefore not only had knowledge of the native Nahuatl but also the Mayan language.
She was being stated by the people of Tabasca being better compared to the other slaves in terms of multilinguist. They were really happy to hand her to the monster who soon saw Malintzin as the key towards their triumph over the Aztecs. Due to the conquest of Mexico which began several years ago, Cortes who was the ruler wanted to have control over the gold and adventure.
It was the meeting between Cortes and Malintzin which was the best scene in the history of the world and due to which there was a baby born with the name Martin. Malintzin was a solution to the difficulties of Cortes as she understood both languages which were Nahuatl and Spanish.
Analysis
Malintzin was kidnapped by her mother and was sold into slavery. She was very young when she was sold. Cortes was able to conquer the Mayan city of Potonchan in the year 1519. All the enslaved women along with Malintzin became the inhabitants of Cortes. The inhabitants also gave them gifts in the form of precious stones and gold. As per the historians, Malintzin’s original date of birth is unknown and she was in her teens during this period of time. According to some historians it is 1500 years which was the birth age of Malintzin. All the enslaved women in the Mayan City were given various names like Malinal, Malintzin and Dona Marina. These names were given to these women when she was taken from her family or original context.
Malintzin was able to gain knowledge of multilingualism. Cortes was interested about the multilingualism of Malintzin who exploited her knowledge....
