Tania Douglas, a biomedical engineer who completed her degrees from University of Cape Town, addresses the need of in-depth knowledge of a problem to find an apt solution at TED Global, 2017. The topic of her talk was “To design better tech, understand context”. She believes the pursuit of technology is blinding us and making us drift from the real needs.  She has not just addressed the problem but has also provided a simple solution.  Just by gaining a deeper understanding of the context where technology is to be used will provide us better solutions. She made the point clearer by showing few medical equipments and their usage and usefulness in Africa.
Tania’s speech compelled the viewers to walk an extra mile and think, are we utilizing the technology in the best way possible?
