Reflection about merengue from Dominican Republic:
This dance form is the native of the Dominican Republic and is said to be first initiated by the slaves of the country. This is the national dance of the country. This form of dance is also a version of the modern day ball dance. This dance form is held in festivals in cities like Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata annually. This dance is performed in pairs by couples who use flirtatious gestures and move around in circle according to the rhythm of the music and moves on side by side. As per the history of the nation this country had influence of Spanish, African and taino culture. But out of all these the country developed its own culture of being open and inculcate the thoughts of being equal in existence.
