Subject: Opening of Restaurant Business 
Introduction 
The memo is in reference to the implementation of proposed business plan. The business plan is 
related to setting up of restaurant business. The suitable form of ownership for restaurant 
business is partnership wherein 3-4 people can pool the funds and carry on its operations. The 
benefits and limitations of partnership and the possible risks or disadvantages in restaurant 
business are discussed in this memo.   
Description / Explanation of business 
Restaurant is a place where people feel comfortable; they relax and usually visit in times of 
happiness. Most of people celebrate their anniversary, birthday parties and other important 
occasions in restaurant. The utility of restaurant is not restricted only for personal purposes; it is 
useful for official purposes as well. Many business dealings or meetings are often conducted in 
restaurants. Thus, restaurant is the best option to visit because of the space advantage, ambience, 
and privacy, catering and cooking. These are the reasons which forced me to enter into 
hospitality industry and start a new restaurant, where snacks, main course and beverages (non-
alcoholic and alcoholic) will be served. In restaurant people won’t have to cook food which in 
itself is a difficult task and they get well prepared food. In cuisine’s the taste of people differs so 
my plan is to open a restaurant where Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian will be served so that it will 
be liked by everyone. The plan is to appoint a music band, so that people can enjoy music along 
with food. The inclusion of music band will make the restaurant more popular and visitors will 
be forced to stay for a longer period of time. 
Form of Business 
The best business structure is partnership with three or four partners. Two of my school friends 
are ready to contribute and start a restaurant in partnership. The partnership is best suited for 
restaurant business because large sum of money is required to set up restaurant.
